Based on the pure electric architecture of SAIC "Xingyun", the car is positioned as a compact SUV for home use. There are three mileage options, namely 425km, 515km and 525km.

The front face has a closed shape, two sides are equipped with split light groups, an air inlet is arranged below the headlight, and the front enclosure presents a split air intake grille shape. 　　The car side line extends from the far end of the headlight and spans the whole side, and the style belongs to the feminine category. The door handle has a conventional shape, and the roof is equipped with a luggage rack. The length, width and height of the MG ES5 are 4476mm/1849mm/1621mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2730 mm. According to official data, the maximum usable area in the car can reach 4.24㎡.

　　The rear design is also simple, and the penetrating taillights create a strong sense of layering, which makes the MG brand logo more eye-catching. The new car will have a 360-degree panoramic image and a rear parking radar.

　　In the interior part, the center console uses a large screen and a sporty flat-bottomed steering wheel. Thanks to the panoramic skylight and light color design, the interior atmosphere is brighter and cleaner. The seat is made of leather, giving consideration to breathability and grade.

　　In terms of power, the MG ES5 adopts the form of single motor rear drive. The maximum power of the motor is 125 kW, the maximum torque is 250 Nm, the acceleration time of 0-100km/h is officially announced as 8 seconds, and there are three kinds of battery capacities, and the corresponding CLTC pure battery life is 425km, 515km and 525km respectively. The chassis adopts the combination of front McPherson and rear multi-link independent suspension.
